Rams to swoop on a DT???
Following the signings of Chris Canty and Rocky Bernard for the Giants, rumour has it that DT Fred Robbins may well be on his way out of New York. It was been widely reported that the Rams were looking at Ronald Fields, a defensive tackle currently on the 49ers roster, so taking a hand hard look at Robbins, if released, wouldn’t require much imagination.
The Rams are looking for a big bodied run-stuffer at DT and as a bonus Robbins can get some pressure too (5.5 sacks in 2008). Spagnuolo will know exactly what he is getting from Robbins and would help free up the St Louis draft strategy as many draftniks felt they might target a DT on day two.
