Rams Ready for Camp
As Free Agency winds down and the hype before the draft builds up the Rams have taken a few measures to strengthen the depth chart by signing 6 players, two of which can be expected to contribute outside of the practice squad. Mark Setterstrom (OG) has faced terrible injury woes the past two years and hopefully still retains some value, while Eric Moore (DE) has been involved with the special teams unit. The other players added are Jeff Otis (QB), Marcus Brown (DB), Eric Butler (TE) and Tim Mattran (C).
As the off-season conditioning programme began, only Steven Jackson was missing. S-Jax reportedly had ‘family issues’ to attend to and was expected to be a no show. The work-outs are voluntary and only a pre-cursor to the three minicamp practices that Steve Spagnuolo will begin to hold in 17 days time.
New Head Coach Steve Spagnuolo took the opportunity to address the assembled roster for the first time and was keen to make sure his ‘Four Pillars’ mentality for the rebuilding of the Rams was taken in. Spagnuolo emphasised the need to ‘lay a foundation’ and said, “…foundation is all about working together. Being loyal. Trusting each other. Mutual respect. You don’t build those kinds of things unless you’re around each other.”
